The Guysborough-Antigonish Journal is a weekly community newspaper that puts journalism first. We serve Guysborough and Antigonish counties, plus Sheet Harbour and area with high-quality local news coverage. Published by Addington Publications Ltd., The Journal is dedicated to providing fair, balanced and comprehensive coverage of local issues and events to our readers.

The paper started as the Guysborough Journal in 1994. After 32 years of publication, it rebranded as the Guysborough-Antigonish Journal in February 2026, fully integrating Antigonish town and county news and views in a bigger paper.

The Guysborough-Antigonish Journal is owned by Publisher Allan Murphy and Managing Editor Helen Murphy.
